About the Split feature
- What is the Split feature for PointCard?

- This feature allows you to Split a PointCard purchase directly with another PointCard member from within the Point app. Select an eligible transaction, choose who you want to Split the purchase amount and the points with and the Split request will be sent. If a request is accepted, the money will be applied to your account and you both will get your share of the points associated with the transaction. You can track outstanding requests and the money you’ve received all within the Point app.

- Navigate to the ‘Cash’ tab inside the Point app. Tap on the settled transaction you’d like to Split. Tap ‘Split with a friend.’ Fill in the details for ‘With’ and ‘For,’ then set the ratio of the Split. Finally, tap ‘Confirm.’

- You will earn rewards for purchases in the same way you always do. When the purchase settles and you choose to Split with a friend via the Point app, the ratio you select will determine the number of points that will be shared with your friend.

Using Split
- How do I choose the ratio of the Split request?

- After you’ve tapped on a specific settled transaction and then tapped ‘Split with a friend,’ you will be directed to choose the PointCard member with whom you’d like to Split the transaction. Then, tap on the arrow in the top right corner of your screen. From here, you will be directed to choose the ratio of your Split.

- How do I find someone to Split with?

- When initiating a Split, sync your contacts and search by your friend's name, Point ID, phone number, or email.

- Can I Split with a friend who is not a PointCard member?

- No, but you can refer them to PointCard through our referral program. Once they join, then you can initiate a Split request.

- When are points from a Split rewarded?

- When a Split request is accepted, the appropriate points set by the ratio are immediately distributed to the Split acceptor and originator’s accounts.

- Can a Split include multiple transactions?

- No. Currently, you can only Split one transaction at a time. We’re working to enable this capability in the future.

- Can I Split a transaction with more than one PointCard Member?

- No. Currently, you can Split with one other Member. We’re working to enable this capability in the future.

- Can I cancel my Split request?

- Yes, a pending request can be canceled. Navigate to the ‘Cash’ tab inside the Point app. Tap on the transaction that is a pending Split. Tap ‘Cancel.’

- What happens if a Split request is canceled?

- When a Split request is canceled, the PointCard member who paid for the original transaction will cover the entire transaction.

- What if a friend declines a Split request?

- If a Split request is declined, the originator is notified and the transaction amount and points earned on the transaction remain with the originator. The originator has the ability to send another Split request.

- When does a Split request expire?

- A Split request expires after 14 days. We will send reminders of the Split request before the expiration date.

- Where can I find my Split transaction history?

- Navigate to the ‘Cash’ tab inside the Point app to view your Split transactions along with all your other transaction history.

- What happens if I send a Split request to the wrong contact?

- You can cancel a pending Split request. Navigate to the ‘Cash’ tab inside the Point app. Tap on the transaction that is a pending Split. Tap ‘Cancel.’

- What do I do if I accidentally accept a stranger’s Split request?

- No, you will not be charged a fee to Split a purchase in the Point app. You are responsible for paying the full purchase amount to the merchant for the original purchase.
